Robert's Run | Play Like Robert Foundation

The annual Robert's Run is the biggest event of the year. All proceeds from Robert's Run benefit the Play Like Robert Foundation. This event is symbolic of Roberts’s passion for play and staying active.

This event includes a 10k, 5k and 1-mile chip-timed run/walk in Hamilton, Montana. We also offer a virtual “Play Like Robert” 10k, 5k, 1-mile run/walk or activity. This allows participants to partake in the usual run/walk or choose an activity such as hiking, fishing, painting, sewing, etc.

Robert's Run honors spirit of Robert Leonardi, the boy who loved to play

August 8, 2023 - Athletes of all skills came together to make a better community this past weekend, all of it in the name of physical activity and fun.The annual 'Robert's Run' brought more than 700 runners from all over the country to Hamilton for a 10K, 5K and 1 mile run-walk. It was all to benefit the 'Play Like Robert Foundation,' a non-profit that encourages wholesome physical activities for kids. It honors the spirit of Robert Leonardi, a nine-year-old Hamilton boy who was killed by a hit and run driver four years ago.

Robert's Run attracts over 600 in-person participants

August 7, 2022 - Meryn, Alice, and Phil Leonardi stand with former Olympian and professional runner Bernard Lagat under the starting arch of Robert's Run in Hamilton. The 2022 Robert's Run had over 600 in-person runners and walkers on Saturday.

Former Olympian and professional runner Bernard Lagat will be the key speaker at the Robert's Run runner's clinic presentation on Friday, August 5, 2022, and will run during the 5k.

June 19, 2022 - Former Olympian and professional runner, Bernard Lagat, will be the key speaker at the Robert's Run runner's clinic presentation at 6:30PM on Friday, August 5, will run during the 5k and will welcome runners across the finish line for the 10k and 1-mile run on Saturday, August 6, 2022 in Hamilton.

July 7, 2021 - Robert’s Run exists to remember Robert A. Leonardi and raise money for children’s education and play. People can participate in Robert's Run with a variety of options: a 5K or 1 mile walk/run in person or virtual and an option to "Play Like Robert" on Saturday, Aug. 7.

Robert’s Run Exceeds Expectations

August 10, 2021 - On Saturday, Robert’s Run was held with clear air, blue skies, and an excellent community gathering of over 800 participants, in-person and virtually.
